The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) is a leading Georgian civil society organization, founded in 2009, focusing on good governance, economic and social policy research and internet and telecommunications. Over the years, IDFI has transformed into a leading Georgian CSO with a wide-ranging mandate. Activities and projects of IDFI are spread around three main directions – watchdog, think-tank and “do-tank”. Nowadays, IDFI employs over 20 individuals and has more than 10 ongoing projects, all of which are related to good governance, rule of law and public policy. IDFI has been one of the main advocates of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and has been actively supporting it both nationally and internationally.
